Pacts may keep SNP out of power

Labour and the Conservatives in government together? That's what Scottish National Party Alex Salmond thinks may happen....

It may sound unlikely, but the Scottish National Party leader Alex Salmond has claimed pro-Union parties are planning a rainbow pact to keep the SNP out of power after the Parliamentary elections on May 3rd.

With a proportional voting system - and predictions that no party will win an outright majority - smaller parties could become potential power-brokers.
