NHS hit by further IT chaos

Updated on 04 May 2007

By Andy Davies

Hundreds of junior doctors in Scotland have had details of interviews lost in the latest IT chaos to hit the NHS.

As Tony Blair prepares to leave Downing Street, this was supposed to be a time for New Labour to shout about its achievements in the NHS.

Instead it's the junior doctors who are doing all the shouting at the moment, as the health secretary herself experienced last night.

Patricia Hewitt on Question Time faced a barracking from junior doctors.

C4 News revealed the IT system flawed with junior doctors' details had been unwittingly published online.

Now the programme can reveal that the system is in further chaos in Scotland - as the people in charge of recruitment have no record of who's coming for interview and when.

All junior doctors have been sent an email asking them to get back in touch with the NHS to advise what time and where an interview had been booked.
