MP expenses to face tougher scrutiny

The Commons speaker has warned that MPs expenses could be exposed to tougher public scrutiny.
Michael Martin will chair cross party talks on plans, including spot checks on expenses claims and a register of all parliamentary staff employed by MPs.
In the wake of the Derek Conway scandal the parties have rushed to show how transparent they are.
David Cameron said that from July all Tory MPs would declare details of any family members on their staff and how they've spent their allowances
