MP Bill Cash: 'I will not quit'
Updated on 29 May 2009
Veteran Tory MP Bill Cash says he is paying back his expense claim but has no intention of resigning. Victoria Macdonald reports.
Mr Cash said he was prepared to repay the money he claimed for renting a flat owned by his daughter, even though he owned a home closer to Westminster.
The Conservative leader David Cameron said Mr Cash faced "serious questions" and should co-operate with the investigation.
The former environment minister, Elliot Morley, who claimed thousands for a mortgage that did not exist, is expected to announce he is stepping down after he faces local party activists.
