Moves to ease 42-day terror plan

The government wants to make concessions over plans to extend the period terror suspects can be detained from the current 28 days to 42.

Channel 4 News has learned that the government, keen to head off a backbench revolt, is ready to give the courts much greater powers to block the home secretary's decisions.
