"Real change" and a "summer of introspection" are what the Labour party needs to win the next election, according to the foreign secretary, David Miliband.

In what could be interpreted as criticism of Gordon Brown and a bid to replace him, Mr Miliband writes in today's Guardian: "The times demand a radical new phase."
