Joan Ryan packs her bags as a Labour vice chair after saying there should be a leadership challenge. Victoria Macdonald reports.
Gordon Brown's coming under increasing pressure from his own MPs to face a challenge to his leadership.
Joan Ryan was sacked as a Labour vice-chair and as the prime minister's envoy to Cyprus after she said a 'multiplicity' of figures should stand against Mr Brown.
And other often loyal MPs have called on the party to begin the leadership contest process ahead of Labour's conference next weekend.
