David Cameron spells out how he hopes to wrest Crewe and Nantwich from Labour in telling by-election.

Buoyed by his party's success in last week's local elections, David Cameron has said the government's decision to scrap the 10p tax rate will be central to the Tories' campaign.

As for Gordon Brown, he met his cabinet colleagues today for the first time since the elections. He is under pressure from his party to spell out how losers from the tax changes will be compensated.
