Gurkhas take government to the high court in battle to stay in Britain
Updated on 16 September 2008
A group of Gurkhas goes to the high court to challenge a government decision to deny them the right to stay in Britain.
They have fought in the Gulf, in Kosovo, in Afghanistan and put their lives at risk in the name of Queen and country.
A change in the law means some members of the regiment have been granted leave to remain, but those who have fallen outside the cut-off date, many of them already living here, now face deportation.
