Griffin: 'It is not about colour'

In response to allegations of a breach of race relation law, BNP leader Nick Griffin tells Jon Snow that he will act for others but that they are not allowed to join his party.
The British National Party could face legal action over a possible breach of race relations law because it only accepts white members.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is challenging the BNP, which gained two seats in this month's European elections, to change its membership and employment rules.
If not, the commission says, it will be injuncted.
The EHRC believe the party may be acting illegally by restricting membership to particular ethnic groups that are white.
Speaking to Jon Snow BNP leader Nick Griffin said, "We are not here for power, we are not here for money. We are here to help our ethnic community because they are the victim of vicious discrimination by our liberal elite.
"It is nothing to do with 'white'. We are talking about the English, Scots, Irish and Welsh - collectively the people who are ethnically British."
In response to a question on whether a black Welshman would be allowed to join the BNP Griffin replied, "There is no such thing as a black Welshman - you can have a black Briton but you cannot have a black Welshman...Our party acts for the indigenous people of these islands. We will act for others but they are not allowed into the party."
