Equality bill 'unnecessary red tape'

Business organisations criticise a plan to reveal the "pay gap" between men and women under new legislation published today.

Companies say the new law will impose unnecessary red tape on firms already struggling to survive the recession.
The equality bill will make it a legal requirement from 2013 to publish hourly rates of pay for men and women if companies have not done so voluntarily before then.
