Cool off, Tories tell warring couples
Updated on 13 July 2009
Married couples seeking divorce should be forced to have a three-month "cooling-off" period in an attempt to save their marriages, the Centre for Social Justice suggests.

The influential Conservative think tank says that the time would give estranged husbands and wives a chance to consider saving their relationship.
The report, Every Family Matters, also backs a tax break to promote marriage. And it calls for more counselling for warring couples and marriage classes for those about to get married.
It concludes that Labour's new rights for cohabiting couples should be reversed.
Former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith, who now advises the party on social policy, spoke to Channel 4 News.
