Brown under pressure over expenses

MPs agree to declare all outside earnings and detail the time they spend working on second jobs as accusations of farce and lunacy are thrown around the Commons.

There were no defeats this afternoon as MPs debated the reform of their expenses regime, but the government caved in again to a demand by MPs to delay any decision until it has been examined by an independent review.
This comes after Gordon Brown has already been forced to climb down once on the issue of the controversial second homes allowance.
