Brown to review troop supplies

After days of argument over kit and troop numbers, the government promises to consider requests for more equipment for British troops in Afghanistan.
Downing Street said the prime minister will take decisions "in light of military advice" and review troop levels with allies.
Earlier today the outgoing head of the army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, said he was compiling a shopping list.
It came as the Ministry of Defence announced that another soldier has been killed in Helmand. His next of kin have been told.
