'We're not managing… not coping'

A social worker says new government measures will do little to ease the crisis facing the profession.
"Children are dying at the rate of two a week, we're not managing and we're not coping no matter what is being said elsewhere," the frontline London social worker told this programme.
The revelations come on the day the government promised more money and more training for social workers, in response to the death of baby Peter.
Amongst the proposed measures is the appointment of members of the public to child protection boards.
