Apology over video expenses

The Home Secretary's husband has apologised for any embarassment over an expenses claim which included two adult films viewed at their home.

Richard Timney said he understood why people might be angry and offended.

Jacqui Smith said she had inadvertently claimed for a television package along with her internet connection and the money was being paid back.

Downing Street said she had done the right thing and was doing a 'great job' as Home Secretary.
