Tot dropped from ride rescued

A mother was forced to drop her toddler into the arms of carnival revellers when a ride got stuck 30ft in the air.

Sherri Pinkerton had to dangle by one hand while holding her toddler in the other arm. She then dropped the girl, who was caught by fairgoers near Daytona Beach in central Florida

Ms Pinkerton was later rescued by firefighters from the small Ferris wheel. No one was hurt and inspectors are investigating.
