'Spin rage' attack at New York gym
Updated on 20 September 2007
A New York gym was the scene of a "spin rage" attack when a Wall Street broker threw another health club member, and his exercise bike, against a wall.
Stuart Sugarman, 48, was enjoying the "euphoric experience" of the high-impact cycling of a spin class and making noises to increase his high, his lawyer said, when Christopher Carter, 44, reacted.
Carter was charged with assault after hedge-fund manager Sugarman suffered a back injury that required surgery, a charge his lawyer said he would "vigorously fight".
