Hundreds of couples who have clocked up 43,000 years of marriage between them renewed their vows at a special ceremony.

The mass, at Westminster Cathedral in London, was attended by around 700 couples who have been married for periods ranging from 10 years to more than 60.

The congregation flocked to the cathedral in spring sunshine ahead of the service led by Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor.
