Pensioners using mobility scooters through a town centre have been told to keep their speed down following a spate of "near misses".

Elderly riders have been asked to keep to a walking speed of 4mph while travelling through pedestrian areas in Rugby, Warwickshire.

Officers issued the plea following a number of incidents where scooters have come close to crashing into pedestrians.
