A football fanatic missed the birth of his baby daughter to play in a crucial FA Cup tie.
Father-to-be Steve Bowey's wife Nicola started having contraction hours before he was due to lead out his Newcastle Blue Star team-mates in a third round qualifying clash against Hucknall Town in the FA Cup.
The 34-year-old led his side to a 4-0 victory but missed the birth of his daughter Lucy, who was born weighing 6lbs 13oz.
