Creative 'snowman' with spices
Updated on 15 December 2008
A Hindu snowman and "snowwoman" decorated with spices such as turmeric, chillies, nutmeg and cinnamon were unveiled in the garden of Westminster Abbey.
The life-sized figures, made with plaster of Paris and wearing traditional Indian dress were created by a group of Hindu schoolchildren from the Sivan Kovil temple in Lewisham, south-east London.
The exercise was aimed at highlighting the importance of Christmas to all faiths and none in Britain and was funded with a grant from the Inter Faith Youth Trust.
