Bunting ban provokes astonishment

Council chiefs have been branded killjoys after banning bunting from a town carnival because it could bring down the street lights.
Colourful flags have been strung up for more than 20 years between lampposts for the annual Ferndown Carnival week in Dorset.
But this year, organisers were told that bunting was off-limits as it could be dangerous.
