A schoolboy in Kansas has been allowed to keep a pet hedgehog after campaigning against local laws that banned the animals from his town.

Judson King, 11, spent two years researching how to change the law in Lawrence before presenting his case to municipal commissioners.

They agreed there was no reason for the ban and Judson was given a hedgehog called Little Luke for Christmas.
