A beekeeper vowed never to give up his hobby - even though he has such a severe allergy to the creatures he risks death when he is stung.

Michael Hunt, 62, was ordered to abandon his apiary by doctors after being bitten early in his career, but 30 years later he is still making Gloucestershire honey.

Despite getting about six stings a year, Mr Hunt, from Cheltenham, says his work is vital to stop the disease-ravaged bee population dying out.
