Press coverage of young people is overwhelmingly negative. A MORI review of press articles concerning young people showed that 71% had a negative slant, compared to only 14% which had a positive angle.

MORI Poll surveys have been collated by Mentorn TV for Britain's Yobs. Here are some highlights:
- Press coverage of young people is overwhelmingly negative. A MORI review of press articles concerning young people showed that 71% had a negative slant, compared to only 14% which had a positive angle (the remaining 15% were neutral).
- Public support for ASBOs is strong. MORI research last year showed that 82% of the public supported the issuing of ASBOs to people responsible for anti-social behaviour, only 4% opposed.
- The public often point the finger of blame at parents. MORI research for the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation in recent years has consistently shown that the public believe better parenting would do most to reduce crime in Britain. This is rated more important than more police on the beat and better discipline in schools (amongst others), MORI research for Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, 2001, 2003, 2004 (c 2,000 interviews each year)
- 76% of respondents in Thurrock say teenagers hanging round streets is fairly/very big problem as opposed to 56% in Hackney.
- 68% of people said they would definitely stop a group of two or three teenagers abusing, harassing or insulting an elderly person in your street.
