Woolworths jobs under threat

One of the oldest names on the British high street goes into administration.

Woolworths has been in business for more than a century. But talks over a possible takeover have failed and now the fate of its 840 stores and 30,000 staff across the country is in doubt.

Another well known retail chain, MFI, has also gone into administration because of financial problems, with 1,000 jobs at stake.
