Thousands protest over Italian workers

The owners of the Lindsey Oil Refinery, Total, say the decision to employ Italian workers was made after a rigorous tender process.

Staff at the refinery has been protesting for the last three days after a construction contract was awarded to the Italian firm which brought in their own workforce from Italy instead of employing British workers.

Thousands of workers at oil refineries across Britain have staged wildcat strikes in support of workers at in North Lincolnshire.
