The culture of personal debt

On the day the government confirms debt is the way forward to cope with the looming recession, Channel 4 News has obtained exclusive research into the levels of personal debt in Britain.

Credit cards, student loans, and overdrafts now total millions of pounds and that is not including the 600,000 people estimated to be on debt management programmes.
