The UK's day off: your views
Updated on 03 February 2009
The cost to business of yesterday's snow has led to a row over whether people should be docked a day's pay for not making it into work. What do you think?
One in five people did not make it into work yesterday, latest estimates from the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) suggest.
It means a total of 6.3m people had the day off, costing the British economy £1.26bn, according to the FSB.
The huge totals have sparked a row about whether people who stayed at home should be docked a day's wages, or lose a day of annual leave.
