Britain's largest retailer launches separate actions against The Guardian and a business newspaper in Thailand.

It is one of the biggest libel actions in recent years, involving Britain's largest retailer, one of the country's leading newspapers and a business paper thousands of miles away in Bangkok.

Tesco launched a massive libel suit earlier this month over a Guardian article about its tax affairs.

Its operation in Thailand is involved in a separate action, demanding damages from two columnists and a former MP whose comments, it says, hurt its reputation.
