Second government finance adviser stands accused

Updated on 12 February 2009

By Siobhan Kennedy

A day after Sir James Crosby steps down from the FSA, the government could lose another senior adviser.

He has been attacked by the Conservatives for links to a bank accused of tax evasion.

More embarrassment for Gordon Brown, whose twice-yearly grilling from senior MPs today was dominated by the financial crisis.

FSA discussion

Jon Snow is joined by the former editor of the Financial Times Andrew Gowers, who was also previously head of communications at Lehman Brothers and Stuart Fraser, policy chairman at the City of London Corporation.
