RBS steps up staff security

Updated on 26 March 2009

By Bridgid Nzekwu

Royal Bank of Scotland has increased security for its current and former senior executives after the attack on the home of former chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin.

The action taken by RBS comes as death threats from the public were sent by email to employees of American insurance company AIG.

'Get the bonus, we will get your children.'
e-mail sent to AIG employee

Published after a Freedom of Information request, these threats show the level of anger among some Americans at the insurance giant, that has taken billions in state aid.
