Millions of people's gas and electricity bills are due to rise dramatically after two more energy companies announced big increases in prices.
From Monday, Scottish Power customers will pay an average of 34 per cent more for their gas and nine per cent extra for their electricity. NPower's gas and electricity prices will rise immediately by 26 per cent and 14 per cent.
E.On, British Gas, EDF and Scottish and Southern Energy have already raised their prices, blaming increases in wholesale costs.
