The airline pilots union blames British Airways management for the Terminal 5 fiasco suggesting they should fired.

The British Air Line Pilot's Association - or BALPA - has called on the government and the city to wake up to the problems with the management of British Airways after the chaos of the opening of Heathrow's Terminal 5.

This weekend saw further disruption to passengers' holiday plans at Heathrow as 185 flights were cancelled and others delayed as the airport struggled to cope with the bad weather conditions and continued problems with baggage handling at Terminal 5.

At least one pilot told passengers on a plane yesterday to email senior management directly with their complaints and other irate pilots have been posting similar advice on the web.
