Interest rates held at 5 per cent

The Bank of England has decided to leave interest rates as they are at 5 per cent as the economy continues to look bleak.
The Bank of England has decided to keep interest rates on hold at 5 per cent, as new figures show the economic backdrop remains bleak.
The Halifax today said house price inflation has now recorded its first double digit fall - and some analysts believe the country has already tipped into recession.
Ian McCafferty who is from the Confederation of British Industry joined us to give us his reaction to the rate news.
