Househunters shun cities - report
Updated on 23 April 2008
Househunters are increasingly looking for homes in "good, old fashioned" towns, suggesting a trend away from living in cities, according to a new report.
A survey of recent searches by online property firm fish4homes showed areas such as Kingswinford in the West Midlands, Cheltenham, Ledbury and Hove were among the most popular.
Mark Fitzgerald-Cooke of fish4homes said: "For most people looking for a new home, there's a growing nostalgia for the good life as we want to feel part of the community that we live in and have a say in what goes on in the area.
"Our estate agents have noticed a demand for properties situated in the more traditional areas of England and we envisage this trend to continue in the next couple of years."
