Honda shutdown; UK car slump

Total car production reaches its lowest level in the UK since 1991.

This comes with the news that Honda will shut down its plant in Swindon for two months next year, although it says no jobs will be lost.

The car industry is thought to be a good indicator of the global economy; cars are expensive and often require financing.

With the big three car makers in the US calling for a multibillion dollar bail out, it seems the UK car industry is also struggling.
