Fears over rising fuel poverty
Updated on 13 July 2009
Rising energy prices and unemployment could mean hundreds of thousands more people will struggle to pay their utility bills.

The Fuel Poverty Advisory Group issued the warning and has called on the government to set out a detailed plan for meeting its own target of eradicating fuel poverty by 2016.
The group calls for a range of measures to improve insulation for homes and an end to higher prices for prepayment meter customers, who can pay up to £225 a year more than direct debit customers.
The chairman of the Fuel Poverty Advisory Group, Derek Lickorish, spoke to Channel 4 News about the report.
