There has been public frustration with all sides in post strike, but also a certain amount of resignation.

For years the postman was our trusted friend, our link to the rest of the world - and that is still largely true.

But strikes, junk mail and urban living have made our relationship with posties perhaps a little less warm and fuzzy.
