The slashing of Eurostar journey times to the continent could see passenger numbers leap from eight to ten million within three years, it has been predicted.
The journey from London to Paris and the London to Brussels trip will be slashed by 20 minutes when the second, and final, section of the £6 billion Channel Tunnel Rail Link opens on November 14.
Eurostar's main London terminal will also move from Waterloo station north of the River Thames to St Pancras station on the same day.
The completion of the second part of the rail link from Ebbsfleet in north Kent to St Pancras will see London-Paris journey times reduced to two hours 11 minutes.
The journey from London to Brussels will fall to one hour 51 minutes.
Five days after the move to St Pancras, Eurostar will open the new Ebbsfleet station.
The company also announced that passengers with Eurostar tickets would be able to travel free on any local Southeastern train services near Ebbsfleet or to Ashford International station in Kent.
