The legendary British music label has confirmed that a third of its workforce is being axed.

EMI's been home to The Beatles, Queen and in later years, Radiohead and Robbie Williams.

Yet it's blaming the challenge of the digital age for the huge restructuring of the label.

New boss Guy Hands has confirmed the changes after the company was aquired by private equity firm Terra Firma last year.

Today Hands unveiled his plans to staff across the board, including marketing, sales and design.

EMI has already got some artists plotting rebellion.
