Economists call for interest rate hike

Leading economists are calling for a huge rise in interest rates.
Interest rates of 7 and a half per cent - sounds drastic - but some of Britain's leading economists say a dramatic rise in the cost of borrowing is the only way to slow down the overheating economy.
The group accuse the Bank of England of ignoring key warning signs that the cost of living is rising - a charge the Bank's Governor has just denied.
