Charging orders hit homeowners

Channel 4 News obtains unpublished figures showing a sharp rise in court actions against homeowners with unsecured loans.

Lenders of unsecured loans, such as credit card and store card debt, and car finance, are increasingly using charging orders.

These can be used to make a financial claim on property, leaving borrowers at risk of repossession of their homes.
