BAA told to sell off airports; Virgin may bid for Gatwick, Stansted
Updated on 20 August 2008
The competition watchdog calls for a break-up of BAA's airport empire.
The competition commission says the Spanish-owned company should sell two of its three London airports, as well as either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
If confirmed after consultation the ruling could mean both Gatwick and Stansted would go under the hammer.
Channel 4 News has learned that Virgin is already considering a bid.
