Average student debt to top £17k

Student debt has fallen for the first time in six years, according to a survey by NatWest bank.

Their data shows the average graduate left university this year owing six percent less than those who finished their degree last year.

But the bad news is that two other surveys suggest student debt is going to rise and rise in the coming years, mostly because of £3000 top-up fees.
