A sweet deal from Tate & Lyle

Tate & Lyle announces that all the sugar it sells in British shops will be Fairtrade. But is Fairtrade as good as it sounds?

And the company said it wanted its entire range to be included by 2009.

The Fairtrade logo is only awarded to firms which pay a fair rate to local producers, and invest in future development and sustainability.

But is it as good as it sounds?
