£800m fund for Icesave customers

The treasury is setting aside £800m to fund compensation for people with money frozen in Icesave accounts.

Depositors will be contacted over the next three to four weeks and told how to claim.

But there has been criticism that savers are being contacted by email, which some say increases the risk of internet fraud.
