Yoko Ono drops suit over Lennon song

John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and EMI Records have dropped their lawsuits against the company which used part of a Beatle's song.

The Premise Media Corp company used a 15-second clip of the song Imagine in a documentary about scientists and teachers.

Ono and EMI had attempted to block the use of the song in state court because they said it breached copyright.

But Premise Media Corp's lawyer Anthony Falzone said they were well within their rights.

He said: "We think it was clear from the beginning that our clients had every right to use the Imagine clip as they did, and we're happy we've vindicated that right."

The song will not appear on the DVD version of the documentary because the move came too late.
