Vernon Kay gets honorary degree

TV presenter and radio host Vernon Kay is being awarded with an honorary degree for his services to the entertainment industry.

Bolton-proud Kay will don a cap and gown at the town's university alongside Howard Devoto and Pete Shelley from punk band The Buzzcocks.

The former model began his career on the children's show FBi and has since fronted T4, Beat the Star, Just the Two of Us and All Star Family Fortunes.

He is married to fellow TV presenter Tess Daly and they have two children, Phoebe and Amber.

Manchester United footballer Gary Neville will receive a degree from the university on Friday, for his outstanding contribution to sport.
